Shane Mark Harty was born 3 August 1963 in Cape Town, South Africa. HE residences in Cape Town, is married and has four children.
During his school years both primary and high school, Harty showed exceptionally talent when it came to art. He attended art school in „Stellenbosch".
Shane was offered the opportunity to open an art shop at the Red Shed in the V & A Waterfront in 1993. He was at the Waterfront for then years. During this period he showed his work daily and has sold original artwork all over the world. He also had an art exhibition in Namibia which was a huge success. Ge has sold over 10.000 original pieces to date.

Harty uses a mixed media when created his art. The material he uses is paint, spray-paint, magazines etc. Each piece in unique. Harty has the ability to create something out of nothing.
